what about a G37x? awd, 17-25mpg 328hp. awd. cant get the awd in 6spd. but they do come with a 7spd auto with manual shift mode and that cool rev match downshift feature. laser guided cruise control, a shit ton of nice interior options.
and the 3.7 is amazing, variable valve lift, contious variable timing control, blah blah blah

Wait for Golf R. I am in the same boat want awd mpg semi luxury decent power and that is what i keep going back to. I would look at the new S60 R Design if you can stretch to mid 40s.

30mpg, 270hp/320tq with a downpipe and chip, more with more mods. you’ve basically looking for the A4 version of my A3.

i wish the is250 had 250-300 hp and i would be all over it
maybe an evo X mr?

to be honest i would pick the B8 a4 over the evo X MR. when i worked at a local dealer i drove a MR a few times. Aside from the seats the interior was shit, the same as a 15k base lancer except a evo MR is 3x that much new. it was loud, SHIT gas mileage maybe 20mpg over the few trips i took with it(it was a used car and was fortunate enough to drive it a few times), i felt that the performance of a evo 8 and 9 were better. for the money i feel its not worth it, if you want a performance car maybe but you already have a fast car so i feel that cancels out the evoX. i’m sure the evo owners well say i’m wrong or whatever, but in my opinion a NICE DD = nice interior as well as everything else. my 99 passat had a nicer fit and finish than a 40K evo MR.
