Some of you know I was shorted my time and a half from my last job. I called NYS Dept. of labor and they sent me the forum to fill out. Only problem is, The paper work says I have to ask for my unpaid wages before they can help. I was going to write a letter and send it certified mail, give them 10 days then fill out the paper work if I dont hear anything. I’m not really sure how to write the letter. Dear xxx ``` Its recently come to my attention that I was paid time, not time and a half. So I am owed 1/2 time. From the pay check stubs I have I believe I am owed $ xxx.xx. ``` Anyone got anything better? ---

saying “time” and “time and a half” sounds really stupid in a professional letter. ---

I would say something like: Dear Fuckup: Prior to my dismissal, there was a mistake made in my pay. As per the attached photocopied paystubs from the period(s) in question, I was paid _insert explanation here_. I should have been paid _insert explanation here._ I trust that you will by the end of this week so that we can avoid action by the department of labor. Thank you in advance. -KuntryQuestTSI ---
