My fiance’s comp has a virus. We get a window from Norton that says: Scan type: Realtime Protection Scan Event: Virus Found! Virus name: Trojan Horse File: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AppCert\wnl32.dll Location: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AppCert Computer: YOUR-W92P4BHLZG User: Owner Action taken: Clean failed : Quarantine failed : Access denied Date found: Sat Jun 14 11:38:52 2008 and Scan type: Realtime Protection Scan Event: Virus Found! Virus name: Trojan Horse File: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AppCert\wsil32.dll Location: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AppCert Computer: YOUR-W92P4BHLZG User: Owner Action taken: Clean failed : Quarantine failed : Access denied Date found: Sat Jun 14 11:39:32 2008 I’m not a computer nerd so if someone can give me step by step instructions to make this thing go away that’d be great. ---

Easiest way is to reformat the comp. Only way to be sure since trojans hide themselves amongst your windows files. ---

ugh, yea trojans suck… i ended up just reformatting to get rid of the last one i had ---

Thats a bad one, download HJT and post the log here and ill try to find a fix. Most likely you will not have to reformat ---

What are the symptoms that your comp is showing? Might be able to edit the registry and get away with it. ---
