Its an 09 Cobalt ss tc with 31k miles on it. The car has thrown a cylinder 3 misfire code since the day i brought it home. Since then, of the time ive owned the car 24 days and have driven it for six of them due to it being at the dealer with them trying to fix it. They first said it was the #3 injector so they replaced it, got the car back and did the same thing immediately. Then i took it upon myself to throw a set of plugs in it, still the same. I swapped coil packs from the #2 and #3 and still got a cylinder 3 misfire. After that i decided(with help from nitroinsane) to do a compression test and found this: Cyl.1: 150 cyl 3: 130 cyl 2: 180 cyl 4: 150 I tried telling them that there was something seriously wrong with the car but they said they did a comp test and it was perfect(bs). They finally decided to pull the valve cover and found that the #3 valve lash adjuster was broken, i got the car back and it still threw the same code. Finally they decided to replace all the valve adjusters and now the car is occasionally stuttering and hesitating while cruising. Im pretty confident that the kid that had this car before me beat the living fuck out of it and it probly needs a motor. So with that if you know anyone that is looking at buying this car you can tell them to stay away or at the very least make them aware of the issues. ---

Should stay away from West Herr IMO. They pulled that shit on me with a lemon they sold me. I was just about ready to drive it through their window and park it telling them to eat a dick. I think I bitched about it here prior. The manager thought I was a punk kid and was likening my $20k vehicle purchase to the 2 bad VCR’s he bought at Rosa’s. FUCKtard. ---

yea the service guy at west herr chevy basically thought i was full of shit, i was not happy about it. i was tempted to take it to a different dealer because its still under factory power train warranty but i just said fuck it ---

It was real pleasant having NO heat in sub 0 winter weather and them claiming it was fine. I’ll NEVER buy from them again and I take every chance I can to trash them. On the other hand I always say good things about Basil dealerships because I’ve never had an issue with my deals with them. 🙂 Good luck with whatever car you decide to go with. ---

I had a similar situation with a 2004 VW Beetle that my daughter bought from West-Herr on Main St. in Williamsville. We had the car for about 6 mths and had nothing but problems with it. We fixed a few things and when more things keep happening decided enough was enough and took it back to them. They took the car back and gave us what we paid for it to put towards another car. She ended up getting a 2007 Honda Accord and we have had zero problems with it. ---

Instead I was told a story about how it took 3 tries at Rosa’s to get a working VCR and something along the lines of “I don’t know if you’ve bought many cars but…”. They were condescending and unreasonable, even after emailing the President of West Herr. He didn’t give me the courtesy of a direct reply either. I can count on 1 hand the places I will never do biz with again, they are one of them. ---

Greg they are good cars and really take some abuse but i’m guessing he put it in the wrong gear at high rpm. I have seen too many people do this and it only takes one time to destroy shit. Hope you have better luck with the next one and hit me up when your ready to make more power 🙂 ---

I have a set of valves from an audi that had a few thousands runout from a broken timing belt. Compression was good, leakdown in spec, but had a random missfire at idle. Pulled the head and found nicks in the pistons on one bank. Pulled the valves, used a lathe as a fixture with a dial indicator, and all the exhaust valves were tweaked. Used set of valves out of a junk head lapped in barn yard style made the customer happy with their salvage tittle, junk yard motor, buy here pay here bullshit A6… ---
