Time Warner wants $2650 to run it to my house. I can’t get DSL or Fios. What are my options? I haven’t kept up with the technology because I have had powerlink. Are phone lines any faster than they were a few years ago? Thanks for the help. ---

Your screwed… Satellite is really bursty if you go that route for internet…and bad weather fucks with it. ---

Is satellite as fast as cable? What does bursty mean, inconsistant? ---

Bursty meaning the speed will go up and down and sometimes drop to nothing. If you already had powerlink then why would they need to run another line? ---

we used to use sat at our store in springville. highest tier and highest power transmiter from direct way. it was horrible. you may be able to use [springwifi.com](http://springwifi.com), but it wasnt as reliable as we needed it. (it would go down randomly through the day sometimes, we would get an “opps, i unplugged the wrong thing” as a reason.) we finally went T1 ---

I need lines for my new house. Damn, I thought I needed phone lines for satellite. How the hell do you send with a dish?!? I thought dishes were only receivers and not transmitters. What aboot cellular hook up Jeff? Slow? Costly? ---

The connection was pretty damn fast but the data plan might be pretty costly. ---

I am running my own lines BUT, it is $1500 just for the line! I also need amplifiers due to the distance. AND The cable at the street does not go to my address so Time Warner wants to charge me to run it down the road too! Is there any way to go wireless from the road to my house? There must be a way to send a signal 1500 feet. No? ---

Where is it that you live exactly? The verizon cellular card is not unlimited access, the sprint card is, but if your in the boonies, I doubt you are in an evdo area. ---
