I have some sympathy for the guy in the car as well. If i ran one of those people over, like FUCK i would be sticking around to get shot in the fucking face repeatedly by that mob of people. Should be a pretty easy case to win as long as the driver hasn’t already admitted guilt before talking to a lawyer.

I agree 100% that it is not safe to stop. There are other options, though.
1 - Dial 911 immediately so that they can get an ambulance out there to help the person.
2 - Go to the police station immediately to file a report.
No cop would ever arrest/charge you under those circumstances.

Yep. IIRC there’s a bar next to that commuter lot for Buff State, and a bunch of apartments. If I had to guess, there were so many people on the street because they were heading back to their dorms from either the bar or a house party.

Only if the Nigerian had millions in coverage which I kind of doubt. And he was released from hospital which means his injuries were probably not too bad.

news said he was a student at Buff state and this is a block away from campus. They fact that they were walking in the middle of the street must change things but that looked pretty intentional to me. Guy was moving pretty good, street was well lit, the horde of people before the intersection should have given the driver plenty of warning and why would you swerve left onto the sidewalk?

I don’t remember the name of the bar, I just remember seeing it from the lot.
Unless the driver really likes driving side streets, I’d imagine he was likely coming from the same place as everyone walking down the street. Letchworth ends 2 short blocks in the direction he was coming from.

wow. i didn’t realize there were so many fucking assholes on nyspeed. let’s all assume they’re scumbags with no jobs because they’re black and walking in the street. get the fuck out of here.
i walk in the street when i walk my dog, because if i walk on the sidewalk, he stops at every fucking tree, or tries to eat every single piece of garbage he sees. does that make me a scumbag? i also walk at night. i also live in the city.
let’s not forget that the speed limit is 30 mph. that dude was fucking flying. if the dudes in the street saw him, i’m sure they would have moved. and if the dude wasn’t speeding, he would have seen the dudes in the street too.
and you don’t know if that “mob” was chasing the guy because he hit him, or because he took off. i know that when i got hit in a car accident and the dude took off, i definitely ran down the street after him, trying to get his license plate #. perhaps someone was just trying to get his info.
