What brands/types of skates typically run wider? I have Fred Flintstone feet and would like to get a pair of skates this year.

mission skates might had some wider sizes.
also… my CCM vectors i think i got in a wider size too

Nike you can get in any width you want, you may have to custom order it, but they have a great customization program

graf skates you can get different wide sizes. but they are a little on the expensive side

regular sized skates run differently. in addition to that, most skate companies offer wider widths (d is regular, e is wide, ee, etc)
where is your foot wide? Mid? toe box? heel?
also, I’d assume bryan is talking about bauer (nike is no longer affiliated with hockey)

Its still nike… they just pulled the nike name off of the nike/bauer line of equipment…

I just got a new pair last month. I went through about 12 different types until I settled with bauer flex lite 4.0 pros. Great all around skate and worked very well with my wide feet. Only end up costing right around 400 and that included cutting a 9ft radius profile on them. I tried the new vapors and the high end graffs first but neither of them felt right. Granted I have had the flex lites stretched twice but after a month and about 25 hours on the ice they feel perfect.

who cut a radius for you locally? i had a hard time discerning who had what cutter (as some generate a lot of heat and are known to warp blades. I’ve hard warped blades, it suuuucks). I just sent mine to No Icing in NH, got them back a few days later

there’s more to it than that. ccm’s also have a bit of a forward pitch to them. bauer’s supreme line is very similar, however bauers vapor line is more similar to rbk’s; wider toe box and wider ankles. they also seem to have less arch support than ccm and the supreme line. graf’s run very narrow, but of course you can get them in wide. they are rather heavy though, and some models have a tendency to soak up water.

Mckie brothers in syracuse does it(radius profile). 40 or 20 if you buy the skates from them. Its an awesome shop, locally owned/operated. I do not know much about their machine, I just know I’ve gone there my whole life and they have always done a good job.

:word: Best place I have ever had my goalie skates done, period. They have their own machine I believe specific for goalie cuts. Had them do my skates all through college, well worth my 45 minute drive.
