1. I know it works in theory, but have any of you guys seen any real world results from it? 2. Where is the best place to obtain it? My heat bill for an 800 sq ft upper last month was almost 300 dollars. ---

Window plasticmakes a big difference. Stand by your windows when its windy, if you feel any cold air, with plastic its gone. I have one window thats like an octagon thats cracked and it leaks some cold air. I plastic it and itstays much warmer in that room. you’ll ote the difference right away. ---

damn, thats a high ass bill. pretty sure home depot, lowes, valu etc. carry it. I’d ike to hear some others results as well. I have a few windows I can feel a draft coming from that i’d like to seal. ---

It works, we use to have to do this in my last couple of places I lived… basically it just seals in the thermal film to the window and adds and insulative barrier of air. Cut our bill in half before. It is a pain in the ass to put up, basically you outline your window frame with a double sided tape and work your way from the top down, just make sure that it is tight and completely sealed. Most hardware places carry it ---

I purchased the 3m kit from Valu just to get the tape. I think that their film was crap. The other kit i purchased from Sams Club and I think that it was frost king or something. I prefered the second kit because the film came on a roll with the top having adhesive on it already. You jusr roll it out, cut it stick it up, and unfold the film down onto the tape that you have laid on the window sill. Works like a charm. It makes a hell of a difference in the bedrooms where you can notice temperature changes. ---

Yeah, do it. I don’t know about the dollars, but the rooms feel warmer. Clean the windows before you do it or that shitty double sided tape will never stick. ---

It works, I do the old windows in my house every winter. Returns will diminish as the quality of your windows goes up. As much as I hate walmart the kit my wife picked up there this year was way easier to use than the ones other stores carry. ---

its kinda a pain to put up…but u dont have to worry about being perfectly tight, u can use a hair dryer…my dad usta do it to ours, until we got new windows 🙂 ---

I used a 3M kit on a few of my windows at my house. Makes a big difference. Now I just wish I could do them all but my cats would have a problem with that and make there way thru. ---

what do those kits usually cost? do they come in single window kits, or multiples? I have 2 windows that could use it. all the others are new. ---

I used to use this stuff, now I have new windows. Clean the window/wood frame before you put it on, that 2 sided tape does not stick well. I put it on the inside of my house, but I have seen people put it outside too. Also maybe some weather striping below the doors would help too?
