# Honda LOL v. Grand Prix Toronto 2009

Alright, as some of you know, I’ve been going back and forth with Honda over the restrictions that they want to place on us this year at the Grand Prix…
… And it’s official: **All participants MUST tape over / cover any make or model badges on their vehicles.**
So, using Bladez as an example, he would have to tape / cover over his Ford badges, Cobra logos and bumper, and anywhere else these ‘Ford’ branded items are located.
My questions is, do you guys still want to go? Or should we just skip it because they’re obviously out-of-their-minds?
God I love the guys at Watkins Glen vs. this, lol.

We’d be kicked out, lol. I actually told them we’d write ‘Honda’ in painters tape all over the cars. Maybe use a BMW logo as the ‘O’ in Honda, lol.

ugh, F them…
if they really think spectators are stupid enough not to notice that then they are out of their minds…
this sounds like the decision of some low level manager at one of the companies that is just trying to CYA… i bet if you talked to their boss the requirment would get squashed (or they would say no all together)
WHAT IF the car was a honda… would you have to cover the badges on that?

I wasnt planning on going but the absolute insanity of what they are proposing would make me vote NO to going as a group.
How many actual Hondas typically have gone in years past to make up the NYSpeed representation? Not alot from what I recall vs. other makes and models.
Seems cheezy. You would not get good video/photos at the show and you wouldnt be representing the automobile world well by giving in to their ludacris rules

This has been on going for weeks between Honda, The Event Coordinators for the show and myself.
They also mandated that all cars be _“modified or exotic.”_ I asked them to define both seeing as an EVO could be considered exotic in Canada, and we have plenty of members who have only engine mods and no “body” mods.
Nope, all Honda vehicles can show their logos.

Exactly, They wouldn’t ask “Why are the badges taped?” they would ask “what is that over all of the badges?”
