Decided to make the jump into homeownership. Making a formal offer this afternoon. End of group townhouse with 1800+ sf over 3 finished levels. Three bedrooms, 2 full, and 2 half baths. Nice size backyard for the dogs, move in ready. Market is soft down here so hopefully I can get the seller to pay the closing. Only thing that sucks is NO GARAGE OR DRIVEWAY! i know i know… but if you want a nice garage townhome you’re looking at a minimum of 400K and that’s out of my range right now :mamoru:

Formal living room, dinning room, and kitchen… nice hardwood floors on the main level.
New countertops, probably going to replace the appliances with stainless steel ones.

Only other drawback is the “Popcorn” ceilings. Is this an easy fix?? or would I have to hire someone?

Have to be willing to make some sacrifices. The housing market down here is insane and I don’t want to be “house poor” carrying a huge mortage.

Popcorn ceilings were an easy fix at my parents house. Use a spray bottle with some water and get a small area wet and come back with a putty knife. Make sure everything is covered that you dont want ruined.

The interest rates have gone through the roof…
3 weeks ago i closed at 5.875 @ 5% downpayment… gold luck finding anything under 6.75 right now, and doesn’t require 10% down

looks good… it you really want to get the “popcorn” off i took mine off with a 4in scraper and water and 2 weeks just to get it off ( room 1 is 35x16 room 2 was 28x26 12 ft ceilings) then took a week to fix all the holes and cuts and such.with mud then 3 day weekend to sand it all down (make sure you put up walls of plactic)… cost me the time, and 2 5gal of mud and sand paper…it was easy dont get me wrong just lots of time… oh and had scaffolding on wheels with out it im sure it would have taken longer i should have paid for someone to do it

Im putting down 20% (No PMI) and I work for a bank so I get 1 percent off of the lowest rate I qualified for (4.96%) BALLIN!!

Its gotta be painful on your arms, back, shoulders, and neck doing this… i might just hire someone.

And to think you could have ripped it off and hung new drywall in one day. 😛
