Anyone here that can get me a good deal on a hot water tank…
needs to be:
4+ house size
.61 or better Enegry Factor… need to get some tax credits
50+ gal.
would like a 40+ gal/hr recovery rate
Natural Gas
found some at lowes from $450- $600

I came here to mention the $150 national fuel rebate, but it looks like you’re on top of it.
So, uh, I can tell you that a 50 gal, high recovery, 4k btu, 0.63 E rating w/12 year warranty is $549 retail.

that is the one i was looking at from lowes…and its gray :gotme:but there is one with out all the 3 diff cleaning …and shit for 100 less…that is white.
yea the 150 from nat. fuel and the what 100 or so from fed tax and some more from state im trying to get a cheep tank here…

I’ll get yah a 50 gal high recovery, 6 yr warr, but E is 0.58… for $450.

I might, but it depends on what the premium is for a more efficient tank. Might cancel out.
Plus I submitted for a National Fuel rebate when I got my furnace several months ago and haven’t seen anything so I’m getting skeptical.
IIRC there are no tax credits for less than .8 efficiency right? Which means tankless.

Oh and I’m picking up the pricing sheet tonight when I pick up some other stuff…
We remitted our NatFuel rebate last week or two, I’ll let you know when it comes in, though I don’t imagine it’ll be immediate.

You can get some pretty hefty tax credits in conjunction with the National Fuel rebates for tankless heaters that actually make the tankless ones cheaper.
But you have to have it installed by a qualified contractor. On paper at least. And I’ve heard mixed reviews. The water isn’t “hot”, they’re too loud, need annual cleaning, aren’t reliable, etc. Still tempting because they’d be so much cheaper to operate and I don’t believe everything I hear, but I decided to pass.

yea i know what you are saying… i was told with tankless they dont get hot… unless you throw out over $1500… most people get them put in and still have a tank in the basement set on low…tankless is not good here when we have cold weather… i dont want to still spend 500 and then still have to go out and get a tank… right now the one i have does not work… if it worked then mabye i would think about tankless
so just got off the phone with seneca plumbing… and wow that guy was by far the biggest prick to me on the phone :tdown:
