# How can I strip a background color off a text logo?

I need to strip off a background color…  
we here are graphically challenged and have no photo editing software.

is there a freebee program i can grab somewhere?  
or some other easy way of extracting the letters in a manner other than MS paint.

hmm real easy to do in photoshop but unfortunately i don’t know for any free programs 😕

edit: if its just a one time thing if you send it to me ill just do it for you

maybe GIMP

or just d/l photoshop from adobe… you should have 30 days of free use before it’ll stop working

i’ll look for the trial version.

i also asked our local IT guy (in Frankln MA) if the parent company can help

If it was not for work, i would send it off to be done, but I cant see having  
someone else do it for me.

I downloaded [paint.net](http://paint.net) and it worked well.
