# How do you measure a lug pattern??

I bought a set of 17" atp rims and they didnt fit my bmw… Now I have to sell them but since they dont fit a BMW I dont know what they DO fit… How to I measure the lug pattern to find out what they’d fit on??

usually will say on the backside of the wheels what the lug pattern and offset is.

there wasnt any bolt pattern on the back… Ill go out and measure later, you cant tell a pattern from looking at it can ya? lol

get out a caliper or ruler…
I bet those are 5X114’s, if 5X120’s didn’t fit (common BMW size I guess)

It was 5 and the line right before half in inches, whats that translate to?

5 = 127mm
approx 138mm
about 5X138mm

lol, ill go out and measure again in a little bit, it was cold and I did it real quick thinking that if it came close to a common bolt pattern I know itd be that.

actually it looks like the 139 is a C300, dodge some shit and some other big wheel cars. I bet thats what they are.

Measure from the center of the first lug to the center of the third lug in the pattern. The bolt pattern or bolt circle is the diameter of an imaginary circle formed by the centers of the wheel lugs. Bolt patterns can be 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 lug holes, however tuner applications are typically 4 or 5 lug. Bolt circles are measured in both inches and millimeters, therefore you may hear a bolt pattern referred to as both (i.e. 5x114.3 mm is also referred to as 5x4.5). A bolt circle of 5x114.3 mm would indicate a 5 lug pattern on a circle with a diameter of 114.3mm (or 4.5").

Measure from the outer edge of one bolt hole and the center of the other. On odd number bolt circles the full diameter cant be measure by not measuring across the centerline of the circle. This will help correct the measurement
