It’s kind of dumb in a sense. Mine is technically a modified “stage 2” but I don’t refer to it as that. I just say “stock with poolie” :lol

The only Chevys that I care for are Corvettes and Camaros and I don’t think that Chevrolet offers us stage kits. I just think its stupid when you ask someone what is done to their car and they say ‘stage 2 blah, stage 3 blah’. If stages were defined in the automotive world, it’d make sense but they arent.

travis, youre still a supra guy. its like BPU-, BPU, BPU+ etc.

some aftermarket companies do the “stage packages” for simplicity and marketing. like APR a VW/audi tuner that offers stage 1, 2, 3 and 3+ kits… in those particular communities its much easier to distinguish between the crowd what is what that way… stage 1 is a chip, stage 2 is chip, and exhaust, 3 is all of the above plus larger turbo/s for the VW/ audi market… then you get where i am and they dont have stage kits, mine is a custom “big turbo” setup, GT30xxR and bigger is usually considered as big turbo on the 1.8t’s

I understand. I guess I need to clarify what I thought was stupid…it’s stupid when you walk up to someone and they tell you that their car is ‘stage 3’ or whatever. I have no idea how fast a stage 3 Audi is, but I know how fast a car with a 61MM turbo is…

same both ways, people in that crowd dont follow single supras or NA-T Is300s wiht PT67’s or something on it you know, but they know what their brand can do with said mods.

What I’m getting at is I can estimate how fast an Audi with a 61mm turbo is, but I have no idea how fast a stage 3 Audi is…so if the owner tells me ‘61mm’ instead of ‘stage 47’, I can get an idea of how fast it is.

yes, referring to your car as a stage \<whatever\> is stupid. Maybe only 10% of people will understand what you are talking about, so don’t say it.
