# How Important Is ...

the fuel pressure regulator? The only reason I’m asking is because focusinprogress and I were looking over our buddies swapped civic and noticed something was wrong. When we looked closer, we noticed that his fpr was not hooked upto the black box under his im, since his cousin broke that box. He’s got a 2000 mile trip back home … do you think his car will have any probs during the trip due to the fpr?

Anything that regulates FUEL is pretty fucking important…
550s at 10PSI is a lot different than 550s at 25PSI

well the fuel pressure regulator is connected to the fuel rail, but then the vacuum line of it goes to the black box (IAB Vacuum Tank) … his fpr vacuum line is just dangaling(sp?). focusinprogress tried to hook it directly to the im, but it made the car idle SUPER low …

Its not supposed to be hooked up to no black box under the manifold.
ONe line is fuel and the other is vacuum, thats hooked up to the intake manifold. \<----I think:biglaugh:

yeah the one line is vacuum, but when we hook it directly upto the im and dont split it to the black box, the car runs like crap …

meh, if it’s on and not connected to a vac source, you are just getting more fuel pressure off throttle.

How much is a new IAB? i would probably just buy a new one because with a 2000 mile trip ahead of him, and his car running like crap then he would probable be wasting alot of gas. So it might be cheaper to just get a new one. Rather than spending alot more on gas.
What about if you reset the idle after you hooked the vacuum line up? it might be worth a shot

well he already left for his trip, i was just curious. we’ll see how long the motor lasts … since he drives his car like an asshat. Shifting at 9k sometimes ftw lol
