hey guys as ive been doing my tune up, my dad was telling me to replace the wires since i dont know how old there. he said they last up to 6-7 years max. ? but the wires seem to be in great shape, no cracks, clean and look ok ? so is there a way to test them ? Thanks once again son folks ---

you can still use the wires if your not having any problems, but upgrading to new wiresets these days will help increase the mileage and efficiency of the engine. ---

To test them properly, you’d need a Meg-ohm meter. This meter would check the resistance of the wire while voltage is being sent through it. you can also just check the resistance without voltage, but that won’t give you the true status of the wire. To avoid all of this, grab a new set and be done with it. ---

yeah just get a new set and be done with it, considering you dont know how old they are…it cant hurt and will probly run better. ---

by looks. dry, cracked, white marks, discolored, wet etc. if your doing a full tune up anyways, spend the extra hundred dollars and get NGK’s. increased my mileage by about 7% with just the wires ---

really 7%, which NGK wires are these ? just the reg ones or some high end ---

regular ngk wires. They are blue. mine were fucked. so 7% is very very good. ---

7% only because it was new wires… not because it was NGK. The NGK will just last slightly longer… out of the box they are all the same on an OE application. ---
