# How many liters/quarts are there to fill the transmission?

Hey,

Same old story, … tranny filler bolt wont come off, so i’m just going to fill from inside and hope i put enough in, so how much fills it up?

2.4L in the Tranny.

1.3L in the R200 Diff

1.5L in the R00V Diff

what happens if its over or underfilled by like .4L and you drive it for like 500 km or so

thanks adam, i just did the fastest tranny fluid change. Didn’t even jack up the car, or remove the shift knob.

Under Fill can be a bit risky in the sense that you are not getting full lube  
to the top gears but if you are using some thick stuff like Lucas oil stabilizer  
or redline shock proof you will be fine. The only issue I see with over  
filling it is that there will be a lot of drag on the gears causing the syncros  
to slow down enough that your shifts aren’t smooth and you grind causing  
damage or that there is a lot of drag on the gears causing loss of power.
