Got my first one yesterday at a motorcycle safety checkpoint (aka ticket you for whatever they can to make money) in Elicottville…trooper said it’s not a moving violation, so no points. Debating just mailing it in pleading guilty, or pleading not guilty and bringing a legal helmet with me to court. Anybody ever get one…or know someone that has? Just curious how much money it is and if it’s worth my time trying to get it reduced. ---

I got a ticket a few weeks ago for “Not wearing a Helmet” while driving the t-rex. I still do not drive it with one. I’ll let you know how that goes in court. ---

Bring a DOT helmet and claim the officer didn’t know what he was talking about? lol LAFENGAS…that’s sucks, the legality of it makes sense but in reality it is a stupid law in your case. ---

I’d feel much safer with a cage around my whole body than just a plastic and foam helmet around my head. And i appreciate the info, let me know how it goes in court. ---

I would just bring in your DOT approvde helmet and be like WTF the DOT sticker was under this piece of padding or something… and ive NEVER seen a non DOT motorcycle helmet… non Snell yes, but isnt DOT just basically it has to keep your brain goo instead your helmet? ---

In reality, i only had the balls enough one night to try it, and it was quite the exhilirating experience to say the least…an amazing sensation feeling the wind in your hair like that…but not something i’d do regularly i think.
