'99 Z28 (M6) - $19k (Bought 1year old w/ 15k on the clock)

Powertrain:
• Whisper Lid/IAT Sensor - 80
• GMAF (currently not using) - 150
• MAC Headers w/ off-road Y-pipe - 475
• SLP Resonator Cat Back - 200
• HPP III - 150
• Pro 5.0 Shifter - 160
• TA Rearend Cover/Girdle w/ Stud Kit - 100
Subtotal: 1315

Apperance & Random:
• SLP Bowtie Grill - 100
• ’69 Z/28 GM Emblems - 50
• Harlan Shift-Light - Gift
Subtotal: 150

Suspension, Brakes & Chassis:
• KVR Black CAD plated Xdrilled rotors and semi-metallic pads (all 4, brand new on GP) I think it was like - 400
• Earl’s Stainless Steel Brake Lines - 75
• LG Torque Arm w/ Heim Joint - 75
• Global West Double Spherical Bearing Lower Control Arms - 200
All of the following suspension I got for ~$1k with 2-3k miles on it from a friend who sold his car (his finace got pregnant so he had to buy a 4 door… he got an Evo 😉 ).
• Koni Double Adjustable Front Shocks
• Ground Control Coil Overs w/ Eibach 500# Springs
• Suspension Techniques 35mm Front Sway Bar
• BMR Strut Tower Brace
• Poly Front Control Arm Bushings

• 17x9 OE '00+ SS Wheels and 275 Kuhmo Victoracers 400
Subtotal: 1200

Mods Total: 4215

So a bit over 4 grand in mods (only $150 of which is for looks, the rest is all perf.) on a 19k car for a Grand Total of around $23,000. Is it worth it??? HELL YES. My car is a jack of all trades for me. Great daily driver, good looks, gotta love the T-tops, gets the girls’ attention, but most importantly it performs great in all respects… it outhandles most cars on the road.

Of course I bought the car about 4 and a half years ago. If I were to go looking to spend $23k right now I could probably get a highly modded SS or something (though 99% of them are modded for dragging only, not handling like mine). Still, it’s hard to think of a car that does everything I ask it… and does it well, for $23k.

It’s also worth noting that by shopping the classifieds and GPs I’ve easily saved thousands on my mods. My front shocks alone go for like $350 _each_ and I got that whole setup for $1k w/ the coilovers, STB, sway bars etc.

1977 Ford F-150 2wd 4-spd - $400
plugs, wires, air filter, fuel pump, starter, fuel filter, carb rebuild kit - $103
ring gear - $30

now I have a beater truck with an 8 ft. bed that runs great for $533

I plan on tearing it down to frame and doing a complete rebuilt that will cost around $8000 and take a few years to complete. Will it be worth it? Who knows, but I will have the truck I have wanted for 15 years and will learn a lot about cars in the process.

wow which setup…i’d say the most impressive bang for the buck i’ve had was with a stock 5.0L stang (bone stock from throttle body to oil pan).

1200 car and motor
120 two T3’s and two super coupe intercoolers
300 SFMU
50 +(an eec IV) - in exchange for 30# injectors
150 70mm mass for 30#
250 tubing and exhaust
10 flex fan
130 255lph fuel pump
75 3.73 gears
150 flowtech 1 5/8" headers
100 guages
250 8-point rollcage
90 1/2 inch head studs
250 driveshaft loop and scatterproof bellhousing
300 msd 6al
150 SSM south sides

$3,575 to run 11.59 @ 122
(and some of this shit above really wasn’t needed to go 11’s)
