I cant figure out how to get windows live to connect to the genesee.edu mail server. I was able to do it for my gf’s email through Brockport, but I cant get the settings right for genesee. I know I have the server correct. but Idk what other settings to change. I have the box checked that the server requires SSL, I selected the encrypting algorithm as 3DES, which I found by looking at the security certif on the site. I get this error: > Unable to send or receive messages for the Genesee account. The connection to the server has failed. > Server: ‘mail07.genesee.edu’ > Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E > Protocol: POP3 > Port: 995 > Secure(SSL): Yes > Socket Error: 10061 Any ideas? ---

Does it require a specific port number to hit the mail server? ---

could be IMAP only too or not even capable of SSL ---

the school probably has a help desk. call them. ---

get a gmail account forward both to it profit ---

Its not through [live.com](http://live.com), its kind of like outlook but windows version. I have both of my hotmail accounts linked through there. I need to google pop/imap emails to see what they are. lol ---

I really dislike gmail’s POP/IMAP support. The whole “label” thing really throws it off for me. Also, google/gmail is really reliable, but if you are unable to send/receive mail to a professor, you REALLY want to be able to point the finger back at your school. Your professor will have no mercy if gmail fails to send your paper. Did you call the help desk yet? ---
