You need to add components to the non vtec boards to make them vtec.

should be a 1980 board, look at the number in the upper right hand corner to see if you can find 1980 written somewhere in the number.
If so, [http://www.xenocron.com/install/1980.htm](http://www.xenocron.com/install/1980.htm)

I have a list of what the components are if you want to source them yourself. Can’t seem to find the web back-up for the wiki that has all that info. I’ll have to look at my hardcopy. Can’t get to that till this weekend though sorry, let me knwo if you’ll still need it.

edit: here’s an archive, not sure how complete [http://web.archive.org/web/20051030192839/http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/02D01980-1500](http://web.archive.org/web/20051030192839/http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/02D01980-1500)
