# how to get around emissions?

my vin didnt match in the PCM of my '98 gtp and it passed.

it will allow a car with a different vin to pass. that way if a replacement pcm(junkyard,dealer etc…) is used it will pass. but it is looked into from above not at the station level. some vehichles (mini&bmw) pcm’s do not use the vin as the pcm number but the last digits (serial number) match. when someone manually enters the vin wrong like a typo it shows up also

ya, I just hit some numbers on the post. Its a little differnt on the truck but the same idea;). I never noticed the number count, the vin edit box just has to be full.
