I used to do something similar with my dirt track go-karts for big events. Soak the K&N filter with nitrous for qualifying(2 laps). Qualified for the Karting Nationals in Daytona 3 years in a row:number1. Of course I wasn’t the only one doing it, but it worked. ---

Shady’s idea of gutting the car is about the best I’ve seen. I don’t know about the E36, but the E46 325 is slow as shitpissfuck and would likely get mopped by the Prelude in the 1/4. Road race, or even highway roll… BMW all the way. ---

Take out pass seat, rear seats, spare, jack, remove a/c pump and run a smaller belt, jack up the front tire pressure to 50psi or so, take off the exhaust system, take radio and such out, the list goes on and on. ---

It does when you remove 20-2lb objects. Less weight is free performance. Hell my radio/speakers/amp setup in my car stock weighed well over 40lbs. ---
