Ok, there are at least 4 of you on this forum ith a “rubberized” flat black or at had one at one point, What’s the secret and how’s it done? Costs? Pro’s/Con’s? ---

No need to sand? and what paint is the rubberized black? does anyone have a preferance, or does everyone use Krylon Rust tough? ---

The only person I know who _had_ a rubberized paintjob was Adam, and he sold that car. There’s lots with flat black though. Maybe that’s where your confusion lies. ---

Polak182 I didn’t even wash my car before I painted it with Rubber. That Stuff Sticks to Anything, and I mean ANYTHING… I just masked off my windows, shook the can, and sprayed. The only pointer I have is because this stuff is really really thick, is stand far back and start and finish a full sweep from on to off the car. Like don’t go and stop halfway down the side while still spraying, stop and go the other way. You will quickly in that split second build up a huge mound of rubber and when it dries looks blotchy. Practice on something 1st. Pro’s: - Look’s FREEKIN AWESOME! - Stay’s Cleaner - Fill’s Scratches dents and dings - Don’t have to wax it - If you Scratch just re-spray over it - Mad Attention Grabber Con’s: Other than your car looking like it was sponsored by Rubbermaid I really don’t have any Con’s ---

Yeah let it dry and do a second coat… The shit is so thick it covers up over the mistakes 😉 EDIT: The only con I Just thought of is this paint job is pretty much permanent. **Don’t do it on a car that you plan to paint properly later, It will not come off!** Now the guy I sold my car choose to take it all off it cost him $1000 alone to get this stuff professionally removed. ---

Damn… That actually looks really nice. I think I’d still prefer a glossy paint job for a DD, but for a track car, this stuff rules. ---

I heard it also weights alot, how much of that stuff do u usually need? And, I once read somewhere, it messes up radio reception. Adam, Do you think you can help me do it on my car? like in about a month or so, I need to get it painted after i sand it down and get rid of the rust. I might just go with flat black rather than the rubbery stuff, we’ll see how it looks in person if I ever will see it. And, what did you do about the engine bay? ps. That SHO must look like robocops car…lol Edit: its for my beater aswell ---
