Did you buy the car without inspecting it first? Was there a lien on the vehicle? Im in the same boat but seems risky. ---

I priority mailed mine back to the guy when i bought my goat. $4.60 well worth it. ---

jay (a2boost) let me borrow his plates when i bought his car, but i live like 13steps away then his dad chased me out with a weapon when i returned them because he didnt know what i was doing lol ---

make sure you get insurance in the state you get the temp reg. some ins companies dont insure some states (I think). Plus their dmv might hassle you. I just went to the dmv today and got an in transit permit to bring a car from Walworth to Jamestown. basically its 2 forms. Massachusetts does not recognize NYS intransit permit but thats not applicable in this instance. I would imagine its not too much different. try [dmv.org](http://dmv.org). ---

im gunna see if i can use the other persons plates to drive back up and then overnight them back to him. Im not purchasing anything until i see it in person. If its a roach then i will enjoy a few hours in NC and catch a flight back whenever. lesson learned. ---

Depends on the state you are getting it from. A lot of them allow for 30 day tags if you have a title and a bill of sale, NYS drivers license, and proof of insurance. X… ---

If i were you I would get your own insurance and temp tags, I would not want to be driving on someones plates from NC.
