free speach. free media. the new FCC guidelines are a direct infringement on this. Who the fuck does the FCC think it is telling people what words they can and cant use? i can understand the racial slurs, as they are a form of ethinic intimidation, but outside of that, there should be no censorship. but they arent even consistent with that, you call Shaliqua a stupid nigger, all hell break loose, you call Bob a stupid cracker, nothing happens. I heart double standards. Hell, there have been multiple cases where huge controversy has arose from a white man using the word “niggardly” which means cheap and stingy. Rediculous. Lets take a look at the holiest of “bad” words. Fuck. what does it mean? have sex. its pefrectly ok to say “have sex” but “fuck” is a “bad” word. Its just a word. how can a word be bad? a word is merely an audible and visual representation of either an idea or a tangible object. Perfectly acceptable: “Teacher, may i go use the restroom?” Totally unacceptable: “teacher, may i go take a shit?” yes, certain words are unacceptable in certain social situations, and some carry stronger connotations than others, but to impose legislation and mandate huge fines for someone using one of these “bad” words on a public broadcast is incomprehensible. Freedom is all inclusive. That means EVERYBODY, not just the rich old white WASP’s. These laws are based on a MORAL code, and morality has no place in legislation. ---

They would lose every advertising dollar and would be out of business in a week. if you’re gonna bust out extreme analogies, keep them realistic. The WB also wouldnt play Bob Vila after Dawsons Creek either. That timeslot plays to a certain demographic. rape flics… then HBO would be out of $$$. stern makes less than jay leno b/c the majority like being spoon fed censored TV. most of america is dumb, and even more are passive. the fact is, you may think that way but you pay about dick in taxes and donate even less…so therefore you are dick according to the laws of business/gov. hey, i’m not ball busting, i’m dick too, except my dick is bigger 😉 . the $$$, hence 40-65 range don’t want it, they have the $$$, they have the power, they have the votes… i’ll vote darkstar in 2040 but until then, just realize that censorship will be a big part of TV-radio entertainment and you just gotta roll with the punches ---
