ok, just finished a 3.7 GB download (finished while I was at work) using Azureus which took me 2 days to get cause for some reason I can never get speeds better than like 25-30 Kbps. Anyone know why I’d be getting speeds that slow? Anyway, when I got home I seen a popup that said “failure to move file [insert folder here]” and another message that said the same but it was a subdirectory under the one above. I looked in the d/l folder and saw the folder for the above file (and subdirectory) but no files in it? WTF? it says that I’m seeding the file right now and all 3.7 GB are d/led (100%). Anyone know how to retrieve that file? Like I said, it took a few days to get and I dont want to go thru the pita of doing it again thanks -steve edit: I got it, just went to open in Azureus _duh_ but, anyone know why I’d be getting slow d/l speeds? or is this common with torrents? I only download torrents with lots of seeders (atleast more than leachers) ---

didnt u have that port forwarding problem? its probably cause the port is blocked and ppl cannot download from you. The way torrent works is that the more u share the faster it will download. But, i dont know where ur file went. sorry ---

yeah, actually I meant to PM you about that (thanks for the help BTW). Everything was setup as per that guide you sent me, and for some reason my internet stopped working. I think it was more of a coincdence than anything though. but back then I was getting speeds like 5 kbps so I guess it’s better than before… just wondering if I didnt have something goofed up in the configuration of Azureus ---

torrents are shared which means if ur not sharing anything, ur speeds are going to suck ass. ---

:shrug: I have my max upload set to 60KBs… as a matter of fact, my upload speeds are usually hugher than d/l speeds (I thought I read not long ago that was a rumor though). For example, a file I’m d/ling I’m getting currently 1KBs and uploading 7KBs although another file I’m d/ling 34KBs and uploading 15KBs… I dont know, just seems like I should be getting better speeds is all. All I ever hear about is how torrents are so awesome and fast, yet I get waaay better speeds using direct downloads (depending on the server, up to 200KB/s). I gotta be doing something wrong ---

well ur DSL right?, i wouldent expect much if u are, and if u want the fastest speeds, pony up 15 a month for a newsgroup account 🙂 ---

I was only getting 50kbps or so when I did all 4 discs from ff7 for the pc (1.5ish gig). But I can imagine that isn’t too common of a file. I also have about a 250% share ratio and the most I see is about 60kbps or so. ---

I have a ripped version (I do actually own the game too, but 2 disc’s are destroyed ☹ ) so all the movies are cut out of it :tdown: ---

It is the full thing…music, video, everything, and all four are converted to .img files ready for a virtual CDROM. AND I have the chocobo patch installed as well (win XP users cannot chocobo race without it). Unfortunatley I do not have a burner on my notebook. ---

damn… well that really sucks. I’ve been looking for that for a while now too. ☹ edit: is there a way that you could rar/zip the video files for me, and upload them to filefarmer or something? My game is complete minus the videos :tdown: (I have all the music and all that jazz) ---
