So I get a call from my father… Want the good new or the bad news first? Good news: Grand Prix is registered Bad News: 300 dollars to register it… Aparently they changed how you pay for a car… regardless of what your recipet from the private party says, you have to pay sales tax on the market value of the car and not the reciept… When the fuck did they start doing this… any other time weve brought a car, they go by the receipt of the person who sold it to you… otherwise my G20 would have been at least 200 when I registered it… fuck it only cost me 50 bucks. And what if the car was only worth a few hundred dollars but it had a 5000 dollar market value… thats just fucking retarted… even the lady at the DMV said it was and that its probably had sales tax paid on it at least 3 times… ---

i just registered a car tuesday in wilton and it took 2 seconds and 180 dollars, i had it down that i payed 750 for the car ( in reality i didnt) but they didnt have a problem. Did you have a bill of sale from dmv? ---

thats why, if you exchange it there is no “money” involved and therefore dmv puts there own value on it ---

I guess its there own way of getting back at the people for all the times that they have been “ripped off” from sales tax fruad in the past. What gets me is how do they put there own value on the car without even seeing it. ---

NYS DMV also got rid of their 1-800 numbers, they’re now toll numbers. Fuck DMV ---
