thanks but you are no help. i need to know if this is the deal. it’s a fucking weird old thermostat, and it doesn’t even read the temperature it is in the house. ugh. i don’t want to set it and forget. i need to know what temperature it’s on! ---

put it just to the left side of 70 and ur all good. I hate to admit it but JK is right. If it gets too warm (or cold) move it over some. ---

well common sense tells me that the middle of 60 and 70 would be 65… so the range … of 60 to 70 = 10, half of 10 would be 5. ---

I would replace that old piece of shit with a new energy star one. They are two wires to connect, its pretty simple and they are 20 bucks at any store. ---
