And I just missed a shooting!!! Damnit, I was 1/2 hour too late. A NYS Police helicopter was at the scene Tuesday night briefly. > > The murder happened right outside the Cheektowaga Recreational Center around 8:15 p.m. with at least 100 people in the nearby vicinity. A 19-year-old was shot in the chest and rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, which is across the street from the park, where he later died. “Rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, which is across the street from the park, where he later died” Why am I not suprised. They should just move the Cheektowaga border line up to Union rd. and that would eliminate about 95% of the town’s crime. ---

I grew up down the street from that park - actually a little ways into the city closer to Schiller Park. I know the neighborhood better than I know any other place on this planet and let me tell you that it’s just awful now. I have so many stories about the things that have happened in the area, some that are just unbelievable. My point is, take it from me, don’t hang around over there. I would say Pine Ridge is the border though, not Harlem.
