Some people…theres a kid near me with a red neon, hes on his 2nd huge wing. had the aluminum (like in that pic) now has a whale tail looking thing. At least the rest of the car is bone stock…right down to the stock hub caps.

It’s intentional, it allows for aerodynamic lift at speed. Resulting in a lighter car, and provides easy rotation in cars with poorly designed front-engine, front-wheel drive chassis at speed. Thus not only preventing the usual dangerous under-steer issues typically associated in cars with engines mounted incorrectly, but also aids in acceleration, and perceived handling predictability.
