Saved a assload of money switching to Geico! Saved over 50% a year (1000.00) to be exact, and cut my collision/comp deductable in half. WOOT! ---

Who did you switch from? Insurance IMO is about price just about last. Having good insurance \> having cheap insurance. I’ve heard enough horror stories about geico to stay away. ---

I am on Geico and pay $40 a month… I dont have collision since I own my car and I have a work vehicle so I only use my car for pleasure. Its pretty sweet. ---

Switch from Unitin-direct. I know all the in’s and out’s of the ins deal in reguards to repairs/claims. Unitin is mainly a lateral move for me at a way cheaper price. ---

It’s easy for them to be cheap when they don’t pay you when you file a claim. I had a friend in PA who’s car was f’d from a hail storm. The geico lady literally told him over the phone that she should total it but it’s too late in the day to do all that paperwork so she’s just going to give him the money for paintless dent repair (which would have kept it under the amount to consider it totaled). I think after fighting it for about 6 months he ended up getting a bit more out of them but not much. I switched from Liberty Mutual to AllState and saved about $500 every year…just got my new policy and it was an additional $400 a year off. Went from about $1600 a year to $700. ---

this reminds me - don’t pay for insurance monthly… it’s cheaper to put the 6mo. on a credit card if you factor what they charge you to play bank and take a payment monthly. ---

i have geico. my car was parked on a corner some guy hit me and left. called my insurance someone came and took pics handed me a paper and i had my money in like 2 weeks. i opted to just get a new bumper myself ---

im switching from Progressive to Unitrendirect and its saving me $500 a year for the same coverage. edit: Geico will save me another $101 every 6 months over Unitrendirect!!! looks like im going with them. ---

i deal with all major insurance companies up in Canada and i dont get the impression that any of them are not concerned about client satisfaction… they’re all clamouring for new and more accurate ways to measure it… they all do things differently, but for the most part they all want to close files as soon as possible, so leverage that and be patient. i’ve never had a problem with claims (only ever made 3, not of which were at fault) ---
