apps - programs to make the xbox better - such as programs to copy the games to the HD, rip music, ftp server
emulators - other console systems such as NES, SNES, Genesis
XBMC - Xbox Media Center: plays videos, music, shoutcast, weather, games… a must have IMO
et cetera - home made games, Linux, Windows CE, misc
