You don’t represent everyone though…there are many people that store the type of vehicles that just happen to be that same vehicle someone uses as a beater. Why does it matter if he choses to keep a vehicle clean???

> Forgot to post this earlier…but that list describes my '93 SHO to a t…only I paid $2000 for it. I’ve put 20k miles on it in the last year and to date haven’t had to do much of anything as far as maintenace/reliability. Many people talke smack on the SHO’s but they’re actually pretty solid cars and (I think) are easy to maintain. For $4g’s you’d be able to find one in immaculate condition with not too many miles. BTW, mine had 175k on it and looked like it had 15k…so there are good cars out there in this price range for sure, even if they aren’t SHO’s. Good luck…

:lmfao: @ SHO having a really nice interior. :biglol:

nah, decent all seasons on Quattro \>\>\> snow tires on AWD. I’ve done both. Snow tires are good, but good tires on an AWD car will be better.

Go find me a car that has a seat that hugs you with the push of a button!!!:pimp:

My point wasn’t that the SHO has a high quality interior (it doesn’t…) but that the _condition_ it was in was a “really nice interior”…especially for having 175k on it…

All comments on driving in the snow from someone who lives in Atlanta should be ignored. 😛

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you. As soon as you step on the clutch (such as when braking or maneuvering around a spun out car in the snow) the AWD car with all-seasons will have less traction than a 2WD with 4 snows.

You are right, I never lived in upstate new york. I never owned a FWD car with no snow tires during the winter. I never owned a FWD car with snow tires during the winter. I never owned a quattro car with no snow tires during the winter. I never owned a quattro car with snow tires during the winter. I have not drive thousands of miles in some of the worst snow storms seen in the past 6 years. I have very little foul weather driving experience.

Snow tires are not a substitute for proper driving technique, which is what most drivers lack.

When I said hug this is what I meant…and in a somewhat sarcastic manner…if you’ve never been in a SHO seat these squeeze your side and ‘hug’ you. Also, fwiw there are many other higher end vehicles that have fake leather…not necessarily a bad thing.

You can pick up a 92-99 bonneville SSE/SSEi with most to all the options for under 4K. Parts are fairly cheap, the interior is decent, especially with the 9 way power seats. 96-99 SSEi has the Series 2 supercharged motor which has plenty of power, and they handle well in the snow. I drove a 93 SSE for the first year of driving, and currently have a 93 SSEi.

Also, a buick regal GS, 97+ are good in the winter. Has that after the first bonneville and it loved the snow. Plus you can get heated seats. THe GS also had the Series 2 Supercharged motor.

If you want cheap to buy and fix, I got a 1998 Lumina LTZ that I used last winter. $2000 takes it this weekend. I added heated seats to it and they work decent. I have that posted somewhere on here.

> i tried driving the truck down my street once in about 2" of snow over winter just for the hell of it. i had about 200 lbs of stuff in that back that i was storing back there and even still it was really hard to drive. mayb i just suck at driving. and every audi i am looking at, im making sure to ask right away when the tie rods were done, timing belt, and water pump. i kno those r big items on A4s and i am taking that into consideration.

I drove my r/t in the snow. Mine had a lot more horse power then yours to and I did just fine. It takes some practice. Just get yourself some nice snow tires about 450/500 lbs of weight and you should be all good. You live in amherst, the roads get plowed regularly there. Also I’d suggest getting your truck undercoated.
