# i need an ecu. help please

so i need to get an ecu for my car. i’m not sure exactly what i’m looking for when it comes to this though. my car is a '90 240sx 5 speed KA24E. do i just need to get a KA24E 5 speed ecu, or do i need to get one for my year?
sorry for a stupid question. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have ECU with big # 41 in green on it. I think it’s for manual '91 dohc ka engine, but I’m not 100% sure.
Pm me if you need it.

Btw. there is a guy in Scarborough who know and own Nissan’s from 240sx to Skylines.
He have a shop at KennedyRD/Eglington, His name is Tony and you can call him at 416 916-2487.
He just help me with my car and now my s13 runs better than ever.

Perhaps you should jump up and down on your current ECU, and see if it will pay your insurance for you.

you need a single cam (1989-1990 KA24E) ECU, either from an automatic or 5 speed car, the only difference is that the 5 speed ecu will limit your speed to about 190km/h.
a DOHC (KA24DE) ECU will not work.

are you sure that’s the only difference between the 5speed ecu and the auto ecu? it just seems like there would be issues when you put a auto ecu in a 5speed ecu.

nope, i’ve had an auto ecu in my 5 speed 240 before, works great.
