# I need your opinion

I sent my wheels to Hot Shots a little over 2 weeks ago to get soda blasted and powdercoated a special powder that they had to order. So they tell me they ordered it and it was $70 for 5 lbs. Then he calls me a today a little over a week later telling me they didn’t ship the powder out and that it was $250 not $70. So I’m thinking to myself how it went from $70 to $250. So is it really going to be worth it to just do the powdercoat or take it somewhere else to get done or just get it painted. I’m just a little upset and need some of your opinions on what i should do. Just two motorcycle wheels. Looking for a copperish(sp?) gold.

Let me ask a question… possibly a stupid question.
Could you have them anodized gold? Wouldn’t that look better anyways?

That really sucks that the price changed like that. Ask if there is something similar they can use that isn’t so expensive. I’m sure they/you can find some cheaper powder.
If not, just spray. I personally like the piece of mind that powdercoat will hold up to a bit more. But considering it’s a bike, not getting exposed to harsh elements, you can get away with either.

That would be different and hold up real well.
But I think wheels are too big for most anodizing setups, hopefully I am wrong…
