i thought alternator when lights started dimming and dashboard lights came on and off and all the other garbage…weird…lights all worked on car when i shut it off and it didnt start tho…ahhhh…gotta be timing my guess is since it was done a week ago

Doesnt sound like timing based on the fact that the car started up again…when the T-belt broke in mine it snapped and took out all the tensioners and main crank with it…the car would crank but not start at that point. And if it is the timing belt…good luck getting your $ back since i couldnt even come close to getting my $ back from a Nissan dealer using Nissan parts.

check timing belt asap.

my friend just had his whole motor done by hybrid, 1 month later similar thng happeneed, bolt vibrated loose and shredded his timing belt.

Sounds like an alternator bearing almost. They make some nasty noises when they go bad…and the whole lights dimming/dash lights coming on thing.

sucks to hear bout the Z man. you couldnt pinpoint where on the engine the noise was coming from? and when you drove it with all that rattling/banging noises did it feel low on power or hesitant? if it was the timing belt i would assume the car would not continue to run. good luck tho

could be the alternator
could be the oil pump. but if that were the case it probably would have stopped running all together by now

yea im thinking busted up alternator/shitty belt…maybe a loss of power? i dont know, not much…and i wasnt giving it much gas to find out i just wanted to get to where i was going so i could park it

these cars are not made to be beat…the are sports cars and are made to be driven hard and taken care of…big difference

if its starting then ide say def not timing, if ur noticing electrical failures then its most likely SOMETHING with ur alternator or wiring…good luck fixin it, i know a good amount about the vg30de so hit me up if u need anything

both have been done by me…i mean they can take more beating than an escort or focus or a regular car…because they are expected to when being built…same reason u dont see way2slows car getting fixed ever compared to any other chevy…and he beats the piss out of it
