When your license is suspended then you first have to pay the scofflaw(sp) which will $35 on top of the full amount of points and fines allowed by law. Don’t belive me? go ahead and try it but anyone who has had their license suspended will tell you that it’s just better to goto court. ---

It’s tough. Usually, all they want is the $$$ and they will let you plead down to violations with less (or zero) points. But you can always get a prick of a judge who wants to teach you a lesson “for your own good” and of course, to protect the “public” with which the are SO concerned. Not due to any personal issues but from observing what goes on, I am pretty disgusted with the traffic laws. You probably have alreasdy seen my rants about so-called “drunk driving”. And I could on and on about “speeding”. But back to your situation. Here’s my advice. Go to talk to the town prosecutor about your situation ASAP. He may be quite helpful and it won’t cost you anything. Tell him the truth about what happened, what your driving record is, why you can’t afford to lose your license. He is the guy who who will be the one to reduce the charges. The judge basically just rubber stamps the decision when you plead guilty. If the prosecutor says he won’t be “able” to reduce the charges, that’s when you need to get a shyster. Rich ---

update court was a hour ago. cop didnt show all fines dissmissed. this whole thing only cost me lawyer fees so iam xstatic ---

My buddy had something like that happen. He got a speeding ticket by a trooper. His court date was on 9-11. Obviously all the troopers were busy that day so he got off scott-free. Well, besides of how shitty it felt to know why the trooper didn’t show up. ---

1. Delay as much as possible…send ticket in pleading not guilty and wait for another court date…this will allow you more time to seek lawyer and save some $$$. 2. Go to court and see what the DA and judge have to say…you can always ask for a dismissal asking permission to seek a lawyer. 3. If you really need a lawyer at this point than you just bought yourself atleast 3 months with the steps above. 4. Ask your lawyer to set back court date so he can fully evaluate the case. 5. Pay your fines and have your license back with no points. ---
