# IC : Group Buy - S13 Brake MC Heat Sheild

Okay folks… I whipped up one of these today to see if there would be any interest for them from the S13 guys.
Phase2 sells them for $39.95USD [http://phase2motorsports.stores.yahoo.net/mrs13brcyhes.html](http://phase2motorsports.stores.yahoo.net/mrs13brcyhes.html) or they can be found on ebay for $30-$35USD… neither include shipping or customs etc
My price will start @ $30.00CDN and each piece will come Powder Coated Black and will have a life time warranty (not that you can break them anyway). However, if around 15 people are interested then I will drop the price to $25.00 each.
If anyone is interested then start putting your names down…

Out of curiosity, wouldn’t it be easier, cheaper (for you) and sexier (for us) if instead of doing a zig zag (3x90 degrees), you just do 2x45 degrees?

It wouldnt be any cheaper or any easier… doing the 45’s would actually require 1 more bend so if anything, its more work.
Reason for the 90’s is so that it covers the entire brake MC + fits around the Turbo Eblow without any clearance issues.
Notice how it follows the profile of the MC and then leaves room for the turbo outlet… IF you didnt 90 it and did 45 it, it would bring it much closer to the outlet AND the bigger your turbo, the further back that outlet is. So if I did 45 them… they may fit for some people, but wouldnt fit for others. The 90’s ensure it fits no matter what.

would this heatshield be able to clear brake MC stoppers or a strut bar like this (with built in MC stopper)
its a carbing strut tower bar

Well I know it would clear the Strut Bar itself… as for this “stopper” I have no clue… Only way to know for sure is for you to meet up with me and we’ll drop it in and see if it clears.

Okay… I updated the 1st post with the finished product and I also edited the post in reply to Jammin’s question + added a picture to help explain why they should be 90’ bends and not 45’s…
Anyone else who is interestd pleas put your name down… I will give it say 1 week ? Then I will make them all up based on how many people want one. As far as Pickup goes, people are free to come to my shop in KW or we can setup a Time/Location where everyone can all meet up @ once and pick up their Heat Shields.

Friday night I’m meeting up with my buddy Jack here in town so I can test it on his S14 and see how it fits or if any modification is required.
So yea… I will confirm Friday evening for all the S14 guys whether they fit for you boys as well or not.

I knew I kept forgetting something whenever I logged in… hah
So, I was suppose to meet up with Jack (95S14) here in town but he was to busy as he was leaving for Japan so I was then going to try and meet up with Darian (S13GG) to do a test with with his S14 but I was under the weather on the weekend so I didnt venture out… BUT I’m going to meet up with Darian this weekend (hopefully Sat) and test fit the S14.
HOWEVER… even if the S13 piece is not a direct bolt up, I will make the nessecary changes and also fab up ones for the S14 so that you guys all have the option of getting one as well 😉
