so i noticed this first a few weeks back, when we had that rediculously windy weather for a day or so…i was teaching the gf to drive stick in the Z behind the old apple tree mall, and just sitting there stopped, whenever a nasty gust would hit the car, i noticed it would bog down a bit, never stalling, but it did drop at least 400 rpm’s a few times…

could it be that i have a vacuum leak, and the nasty wind hit it, causing the idle to not be as happy? it’s the only thing i can really think of, but i kinda ruled that out right away since the vacuum guage is very steady all the time, and if wind sitting still would cause the car to act unhappily, high speed winds (or any speed over 60mph for that matter) would do the same thing, and i’ve never noticed any change in idle or rpm smootheness while driving…

just curious if this is normal, or anything to be somewhat concerned about.

it’s not a problem, it’s never gotten bad, it’s never even happened other than that one really windy night…i’m not worried, just curious…

What kind of intake are you running? Probably wind blowing through the MAF causing the ECU to richen the mixture. Without the throttle plate opening to let air in the engine this would cause a bog

well A ur vacuum gauge doesnt check vacuum as theres probably more then a dozen vacuum lines on ur motor. B u would have a terrible idle all the time if it was a leak. Its probably ur maf richening up the fuel mixture. as the more air enters into ur engine the more fuel it burns. if the airs stopping b4 the intake via the throttle plate it doesnt have the air to burn the fuel it sendingt. so the engine sputters a little. my car does the same thing
