Duece can stay healthy this year he will start and dominate. I would be he will be in the top 5 for rushing if he plays the whole season healthy. That is the thing I don’t know if he has ever completed a season healthy. I like fast Willy but all around duece is awsome. He has decent speed and power…I think Willy goes down too easy sometimes. But odds are after 4 games he will be hurt and will wear the gray sweatsuit for the rest of the season. If he does that again this year the only duece Staley Jersey you should be able to get is the gray sweatshit. ---

I like fast willy but sometimes it looks like he is undersized. I mean it is always awsome when he gets a nice hole to run through and he gets a breakaway run. But if he doesn’t get that hole or if he doesnt get a breakaway run then he really doesnt do that well. I like Duece b/c he is a more versitile runner. BUT this guy is injury prone. So in the end it may be fast willy ftw ---

his first season here, he started the first 7 games, and had over 700 yds rushing in thsoe games, he needs to stay healthy, thats all ---

the steelers are like the broncos, you can stick just about anyone back there. A great player like the bus will be a star and decent player will look really good. Its an RB friendly system. ---

Saying “If Duce stays healthy” the Steelers will win is like saying “If George Bush grows a brain” this country will be alot better off. Both of those have absolutely ZERO chance of happening (Duce staying healthy or Bush growing a brain) ---

true. but i havent totally given up on him yet. i honestly believe he can be a big-time runner if he stays healthy this year. and i think he’ll get the majority of the carries if he does stay healthy ---

I wholeheartidly agree with you guys. I just don’t see him staying healthy. His last completely healthy season was either 2000 or 1999. That’s a LONG ways off. ---

duece’s best years are over. he’s no spring chicken especially with all the injuries. not a fast guy to begin with , i’m sure he’s lost a few steps. losing a few steps when you don’t have them to begin with is not good. ---

I wouldnt call him slow by all means or that old…he is 31. He looked pretty good getting over 700 yards in 7 games. I think you are writing him off a little early. If he is healthy he is a premier back…but that is a huge IF ---

duece is not a premier back at all. he’s a product of the steelers system. LT, edge, portis, LJ…those are premier backs. LT in the steelers backfield is a fuckin 2000 yard rusher. duece maybe a 1,300 at best. the average NFL carrer is like 8 years… duece is considered older in the NFL. Bettis was never fast but quick, bus looks quicker than duece ever did. so he’s not fast by any means. when he was healthy he was good for us. barry foster and bam morris were good too. its the system. Just like denver. TD and portis were studs and the rest, mike anderson/quintin griffin/orlandis gary, they were system running backs. the same can be said about willie, if willie is on the lions he’s a nobody, he just doest have the moves or size to do well. Now on the steelers he doesn;t need to rely on that as much and he can just use his flat out speed. ---

i thought duece was a manchild for Philly and i wouldnt say Philly is a team that you can just throw a back in there and hes gonna do well. i agree he might not be the same player now as he was then but i think duece can still be a solid runner…especially on our team. i agree, we are somewhat of a system team at rb and it will help guys excel, so thats all the more reason to have hope that he would have a good year if he could somehow stay healthy. ---

For the people saying anything about how good duece is…you have no idea what you are talking about. It is easy not to like him b/c he NEVER plays…but when he is healthy he is awsome. There is no way around that…if he will ever play a full seasone he will avg 100+ yards/game. I realize the steelers system…but you cant use that to take away from the guy. I am not blind to the fact he is always injured…but my point is IF he is healthy he IS a premier back (meaning top 10 w/obvious exceptions)…however that is a huge if. People weren’t saying shit when he had close to 800 yards in the first 7 games. I can see the point of cutting him, but not on his skill level, just on how injury prone he is. ---

Top 10 in stats doesn’t make you a premier back. when people talk about premier backs they are talking about talent. when duece is healthy he fits but he hasn’t been…for a while. I would take old ass curtis martin over deuce any day. he’s been 1000 yrd + on the pats and the jets his whole carrer, thats like 1500 on the steelers.
