# ilya has mad texting skills and is safer than a drunk at the wheel

Are you serious?

Texting and driving is more serious than drinking and driving?

Let me guess…you tend to drive drunk and are defending your actions?

I’m not saying what I’m doing is safe,because it’s not and I know that. I agree with Sully that ANYTHING (even changing the radio station) can be deadly when behind the wheel…but to say that texting \> drunk driving…you have got to be shitting me.

A drunk guy could just mash the gas pedal and do 110 without even knowing it. I can’t see a texter doing that. Can you? Maybe veering out of the lane, sure. But having NO CONTROL (not just steering, but speed/braking too) over the vehicle due to his drunk ass? Not happening with a texter. Texter could at least attempt, coherently, to correct the speed/braking/steering of his 4000lb weapon.

I was at the game, like I said. I saw a guy get up to get a beer. When he came back…he had NO IDEA where his seat was (surprised he even knew the section). He stood there for a few minutes before I realized his dilemma. I had to help him find his seat (he was a couple rows in front of me). Even after I pointed and told him, he looked at me for another 5 seconds before what I told him processed. You’re telling me that me texting is more dangerous than that fool getting behind the wheel?

And you say I’m ignorant…right.

Anyway, RIP to the folks who died. Hope this guy goes away forever.
