# I'm looking for a competent welder/fabricator...

to build a chassis stand for a project I’m starting in December.
Looking for the following:
1. pricing complete, including materials
2. pricing to assemble/weld if I provide materials
3. even though the diagram doesn’t show it, I’d like the ends to be bolted on so that I can break it down after I’m done with the project.

Sure, it can be done at my place. I’ve definitely got the space. However, I don’t have metal working equipment yet, or a welder.

Ok, now **there’s** a solid quote! I’ll put that into my Ultima build costs, and will get in touch as the time comes. I’m hoping that they can surprise me and have it shipped within 12 weeks, but we’ll see. And if you’re up for some barter, better for both of us. Let me know if you have anything in the forseeable future that needs to be done.

i have a shop and equipment to do this. honestly it can probably be done in about 5 hrs, assuming i have raw materials… let me see on what i can get the material for.
as far as casters go, depends how quality you want. on our jig tables at work, the cheaper casters are junk, we dont even try with those anymore. the nice/softer/stronger ones are like 60$ a piece i think.

Please do. I’m ok with spending some money on this, considering the car cost will be into 6 figures.
Totally agreed about the casters. I need something that’s not going to catch on every little pebble and such on my shop floor. Something that’s reasonably easy to roll around even with 12-1500 pounds on it.

Just wondering why you are looking for a chassis table with casters. I have a friend who builds complete cars and usually you want a chassis table bolted to the floor and above all things LEVEL everywhere

looks more like an assembly table then a fabrication table
assembly tables dont need to be any more level then jackstands on the ground would be
im going to assume that the bare chassis, which is already fully welded, will be set on this, everything test fitted, adjustments made, parts modified, and in the end the car will be lifted off with maybe a 2 post lift
the wheels are there so the project can be pushed out of the way during business hours, something that would be impossible with jack stands or a car hoist

What HotRod said. When it comes right down to it, the Ultima is a kit car. So, chassis is complete. I don’t even have a welder, much less know how to use one, as my welds tend to look like bird seed (see my frame connectors on my Mustang).
Yep, movability is important, although I’ve got enough shop space that it shouldn’t ever get in the way.
