# imap.gmail.com, cannot connect to server-3g iPhone

so for the last day, every time I go to check my mail (gmail account, using iPhone 3g), I get this message: “Cannot get mail, the connection to the server [imap.gmail.com](http://imap.gmail.com) failed”. All the mail settings are as they were on my old iPhone (1st gen), an I never had this issue. All the incoming/outgoing settings and server are the same. Any ideas? Should I just sync it and reset or what?Also, gmail works fine if I go to [gmail.com](http://gmail.com) and veiw from there.

I think it was just the server. I got the same warning this morning. It is fine now.
