What are some numbers? I would like to see 400hp/350tq? Is the Ka good for something like this?

</div>

sure, but if your build doesn’t include any internal work i can’t say how long it’ll last… its like any other motor some people get crazy numbers on stock internals, others are not so lucky. but yes those numbers are definitely attainable from a turbo KA

If you don’t have a budget restriction, you could easily see those numbers out of a VQ.

KA is doable, but will require a bit more boost, I don’t think you’d have as much of a powerband.

As far as im concerned, the KA should have never been boosted. Just an ugly looking engine. If you can get your hands on a cheap CA18DET you’ll have better luck. Internals already forged and cylinder head design is very good. Just becoming hard to get good tunign parts now. Tomei for the last couple of years have stopped making cams and many other makers too.

If you’ve never heard of an SR20, you need to do some reading.

For reference there is a CA18 build going on in the DIY section here. IIRC it’s Articzap’s thread.

3-4k budget
400rwhp/350tq
Fully spooled by 2100rpm

It’s just not gonna happen man. I’ve tuned many many different Nissan setups and you’ll have a better chance of finding Nessie than building something that does all three of these requirements.

just a quick copy and paste for you of the stock form of the 3 main sr20det’s… and no, that budget/full psi/power expectations don’t seem likely.
hope this helps.

any info on what you’re planning to do with this? what shell are you planning to put it in?

> SR20DET Specs
> Here are some basic SR20DET specs showing the differences between the S13, S14 and S15 engines. There have been basically 3 generations of the SR20DET. Which one is better, it doesn’t really matter, especially since there are very few engines out there that will be left stock for very long. Most customers will install them as stock as possible, but will soon upgrade fuel, turbo, intake, and intercooler, if they have not done so already when they order a conversion package.

> * Additions: 6 speed manual transmission. The 6 speed cannot be used on the S13 and S14 motors, and uses a different driveshaft. Speed sensor is located in the differential. The 6 speed is cool, but is not as strong as the 5 speed from the older cars. There is basically 6 gears inside the same housing that was designed to hold 5 gears. This makes the gears smaller and weaker, therby breaking more often
