Hey guys, I found these pics online and rehosted cause im sure alot of people would wanna see this.
For those of you who watched Initial D and have yet to see these pics, yes they are all real, mt Akina is called mt Haruna in real life and yes there is akina lake, fujiwara tofu shop, and the Family’s restaurant is called tsu-ka-i-ra-ku or something ‘skylark’ yes my jdmspeak is crap… and there is area called akagi and its jdmtyte
anyway, next meet at the peak of mt Akina, I treat tofu…

i knew mt. akina was based off a real mountain, but i didnt know it was exactly the same. i assume thats where they filmed the movie.

My girlfriend just went back to Japan with a friend and yea she told me that all those places existed. I dont think that all the maps from the game and movie are exactly alike. For example, Myogi in the game is a big loop with no visible exits. akina is real though, as the Initial D live action was shot on the mountain.

it’s actually Mt. Haruna
haru = means spring
i guess the producers of the show thought akina was more approporiate for some reason

I’m pretty sure the live action was filmed in honkong somewhere,
and all the actors were chinese except for Natsuki who was Japanese.
