Innovative Tuning is now offering custom tuning via Cobb Tuning’s AccessTUNER Pro software for MAZDASPEED vehicles. Cobb currently has support for 07-10 MAZDASPEED 3 and 06-07 MAZDASPEED 6.

In tha past MAZDASPEED owners were stuck tuning their cars with flawed piggyback systems that offered little control, poor drivability, and were inconsistent due to fighting with the stock ECU. With Cobb’s software we can remap the factory computer so that increased torque output and boost levels, better optimized fuel and timing are expected rather than attempting to override what the stock ECU is doing. This gives us greater control over the engine which means more power, more consistent running, and allows us to set up a margin of safety that matches each customers needs.

Custom tuning optimizes tuning parameters to account for differences from one vehicle to the next. This improves reliability and drivability. It also allows us to push boundaries further to make more power if the customer so desires.

For anyone looking to modify their MAZDASPEED vehicle beyond the basic stage 1 or stage 2 mods, custom tuning is a must to keep the engine running properly and take advantage of your aftermarket parts.

Innovative Tuning has been a Cobb Pro Tuner for Subaru, Mitsubishi and Honda for years and it was time to add MAZDASPEED to that list. Last month Christian from Cobb came out and tuned the first few MAZDASPEED vehicles with us and we’re pleased to say those customers were very happy with the results.

From Cobb’s website:
“When you need to extract as much power as possible from your engine configuration, a Pro Dyno Tune is a must. Our network of PRO TUNERS use AccessTUNER Pro software and their professional tuning skills to customize the tune on your vehicle to exactly match the installed modifications. Our PRO TUNERS work their magic in a controlled environment on a dyno. This provides a safe and repeatable way to incrementally make changes to the map and slowly work up to large gains in power with adequate margins of safety. Only on a dyno is it possible to keep the engine at a constant load in order to optimize the tune cell-by-cell.”

I have offered to run a bone stock MS3 on our dyno for free, but nobody has taken me up on it. I want a baseline for these cars.

If I am ever in Buffalo with my car, I will shoot you a message. I don’t have any trips planned in the near future though.

What is the process involved in this? time wise and such?

I can live with snow tires being on it, but if you have an upgraded cat back that won’t work for a baseline.

It will take an hour. We load the car on the dyno, strap it, hook up sensors, perform 3 wide open throttle single gear pulls on the dyno and then unhook everything and unload the car. I’ll provide you with a printout of the results for your records. This service typically costs 100 bucks.

Sounds great. If the 10-day forecast looks decent, the stock wheels and tires may go back on before the weekend.

Hey,
Just curious as to how much the AP would run for a speed 6? Install and tune all together?

Do you install fuel pump internals for this platform? Once you go tuning and installing “stage 2” mods, fuel pressure becomes an issue.
I have a Cobb SRI, Cobb AP. I would like to add more, including a pro-tune, but this is my daily driver that I pay monthly for!

Yes we install pump internals.
