ok so this is a favor for my friend, he has a 2000 dodge neon and needs an inspection, he has a CEL though for O2 sensors because he has no cat, (its there but was hallowed out and piped through) is he screwed or can someone pass him, the car is completely stock ---

why the hell does have a gutted cat on a neon lol when does he need the inspection done by? will my integra cat fit? ---

2000 is OBD 2, so even with hookup how would they scan it? I guess the shop would have to reset and drive the car just enough to get to ready state, then scan it before the CEL comes on. ---

Since it’s a 2000 i think you can have one or two items “not ready” so if you just defeat the CEL, you don’t need to wait for readiness… But it’s a mopar POS so it probably fails all sorts of readiness monitors. ---

Slightly OT If you have a CEL on, is it an auto fail? For instance, you can use a 00-01 type-R ecu to run an obd2 swap, but you need to disable the immobilizer in the computer. the computer runs fine, but throws a CEL…gg right? ---

Best bet is to just get one or a simulator ---

dude cats get like 50 bucks a piece. i would be surprised to see one at a jy, as they could snatch every one and bring it to a metal yard and cash in. ---
