# Insurance question, and its not about quotes

I was just wondering, I have heard rumors that if you have your G and are currently insured you are insured on others peoples cars to?
Im just trying to figure this out for future refrance

If you have your own policy, your policy should cover you on other cars too.

I was under the impression that anyones insurance will cover anyone driving their car based on them being 25+ years of age and if they do not have charges against them in a way which would make them un-insurable.

You guys need to pay more attention
Insurance travels with the car, not the person.
So:
If you let someone drive your car and they smash it … its the same as YOU smashing your car (and your insurance will skyrocket)
If you drive someone’s car and smash it … they will take the insurance hit and you will get away free (unless you get a ticket!)
So be careful who you lend your car to! And make sure you don’t drive in cars that don’t have insurance!
