Maybe its the lack of offensive line? Or maybe the lack of a run game? Wow 2.8 yards per carry, totaling a wopping 70 yards on 25 carrys. Was that maddoxs fault too? He still threw for 230 yards. How many times did maddox get hit? Everyone knows that maddox cant run out of the pocket like ben can so why not keep some pass coverage? How can expect to winn any games when your QB is hit so much? He got sacked 6 times, But im sure thats his fault too. Im so fucking sick of all this steeler Bullshit where all they do is blame there QB when things get bad. Year after year. You love the guy when hes up and hate him when hes down. Thats the main reason why im not a steeler fan. I cant wait till pittsburgh loses to Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Who will you blame then?

with Healthy guys such as Farrior and Ben we should ahve no problem beating anyone but Indy…an i still think that game can be kept close if we’re playing well

…and as for your first comment if you want to take it to the extreme yes. Maddox touches the ball first (if you want to get technical, second after the center). The line was stacked because they knew Maddox couldn’t throw for shit. So they came at the O line with everything they had most of the time which puts additional pressure on the line and on maddox. More people at the line means less room for running. I don’t understand why this is so difficult for people to understand. If he had any kind of throwing game to keep the ravens more conservative they would have had better chances for running it.
Is it totally Maddox’s fault? No, But he takes a major chunk of the blame due to his abilities (or lack there of) causing compensation problems.

people forget so soon how well Maddox was a few seasons ago. Maddox threw for 3400 yards in 2003. Thats why he got the first start over Batch. Thats why they didnt put in randle el. He still has the arm and the decision making, and I really believe that if given a few games to get back up to the speed of the game he’d be at least a decent QB. The people that blame him solely for the loss are retards. he had people in his face constantly. He certainly could have played better, but its not like he was standing unmolested in the pocket throwing interceptions all over the place.

Problem is he lost his starter position, and now is a backup. He should have been working to keep his game up since he was still being paid. I’m tired of seeing people (not you) saying “well at any time you are 1 play away from the backup and 2 plays away from the 3rd line QB”. Well if thats the case why is he not ready to play 24/7 so to speak? Why does he need a stretch of XX amount of games to get ready. Ben came in and did fine with a whole summer off. Batch did ok (not flawless) as well… Hello maddox feel like joining the party anytime soon?

why can’t maddox run like ben? or shed tackles like other qb’s? or throw a tight pass? or hold onto the ball in the pocket? or not be afraid to get hit? that’s why people are NFL qbs… because they can do all those things and well…
